The Writers Bureau 2012 Short Story Writing Competition is now open!

The Writers Bureau are pleased to announce that the 2012 Short Story Writing Competition is now open. With a winning prize of £500, and second, third and fourth prizes of £300, £200 and £100 respectively, it’s certainly worth the entry fee of only £5.00 (reduced to £4.00 for Freelance Market News subscribers). Not to mention the kudos gained for the winners.

Entries can be on any theme and should be no longer than 2000 words. The judge will be Iain Pattison – a prolific short story writer, regular speaker and workshop leader. As author of the highly acclaimed book, Cracking the Short Story Market, he is the perfect choice to judge this highly respected competition.

The winning entries will feature on the Writers Bureau website and the story placed first will also appear in print in Freelance Market News.

Closing date is 30th June 2012.
