Join us in our Zoom classroom for a two-session writing workshop from the comfort of your own home. With numbers strictly limited to ten, this workshop will guide you through a variety of techniques that will help you to write fabulous flash fiction stories.

This is a great opportunity to develop your writing skills and make friends with others on the same journey. This workshop is suitable for writers who want to write flash fiction, including beginners. It's an ideal complement to our home-study Creative Writing, Novel and Short Story Writing and Fiction Writing courses.

Workshop Outline:

Week 1: An Introduction to Flash Fiction So, what is flash fiction, and how does it differ to other types of short story? In the first session, we’ll take a look at what it is, together with the market for flash fiction. Or perhaps you just like writing for fun. And flash fiction is certainly that. We’ll look at some examples, and you’ll have the opportunity to start working on your own piece of flash fiction.

Week 2: Building Your Flash Fiction Story Having begun your flash fiction story, we'll now build on that by taking a look at how to develop it, by adding tension, and ensuring you keep your reader interested. It's then time to propel your reader to the end of your tale, and to finish with a bang. Lots of tips will be offered along the way to guide you in creating a flash fiction masterpiece.

Workshop notes will be emailed to you after each session.
