Join us in our Zoom classroom for a two-session writing workshop from the comfort of your own home. With numbers strictly limited to ten, this workshop will guide you through a variety of techniques so that you can create the perfect backdrop for your stories.

This is a great opportunity to develop your writing skills and make friends with others on the same journey. This workshop is suitable for writers who want to improve their descriptive skills, including beginners. It's an ideal complement to our home-study Creative Writing, Novel and Short Story Writing and Fiction Writing courses.

Workshop Outline:

Week 1: Introducing the Senses In the first session, you'll learn about how the five senses (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste) can bring your writing to life and take your reader right to the scene. There will be some writing exercises so you can start creating vivid scenes.

Week 2: Using description in Stories We'll now move on to how you can use your descriptive skills in story writing. It's important not to overdo it as the story can become lost. But a few uses of the senses, dotted here and there, can make your reader feel involved in your story. You'll have the opportunity to put this into practice.

Workshop notes will be emailed to you after each session.
