Forum Home :: Help with assignments - stuck?

So far, I have found the proofreading course straightforward. It all depends on your knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Some of you may have to work harder on it than others. I have been writing for a long time and my knowledge in all those subjects isn't perfect, but I have a good working knowledge which only needs brushing up.
I have found the proofreading symbols to be a fun module and will be spending longer on it that the first one which I submitted this week. I cannot see I will use the symbols, but who knows? I think the first module should provide some excellent feedback to set a student on the right track for the following assignments. My downfall is commas. I just can't get it into my head if I need a comma and where I need it in a sentence. Ah, well! Practice really does make perfect. Lin

Annemarie Munro Writers Bureau's Student of the Year 2022

"I have seen my writing journey as an adventure: What can I write? What am I best at? What new aspects of writing can I discover and contribute towards? I have welcomed the wide range of modules covering different types of writing, challenging me to try new aspects in style and content, pushing me gently outside my comfort zone with encouragement.

"I signed up for the course in December 2020 as a Christmas present to myself and I started the first module in January 2021. I have had eight pieces published: three paid earning £1080 and a star letter where I won a £250 hotel voucher."
