END NOTE and a Little Inspiration!

October hmm... what can we write about? Obviously there’s Halloween to contend with. But, what else is going on? Well, there’s Global Hand Washing Day, World Mental Health Day and World Sight Day to name only three. And a simple search in Google, using ‘October’ as the search term, will bring up loads of information about other stuff happening around the world.

October 1st

World Vegetarian Day – ah one close to my heart, having been veggie for quite some years.

October 19th 1950

Pullitzer Prize winning American poet Edna St Vincent Millay tragically dies after falling down the stairs at her home. (See below for a curious Millay poem.)

October 28th 1971

Britain launches its first satellite named Prospero.

This short poem by Millay, titled Spring, is curiously questioning why Spring returns. I like it, in a macabre kind of way.

This is a super little game – The Fancy Pants Adventure – with some great graphics, the little player even lies down for a snooze if you don’t move him about.

As always, if you found something of use to you in this issue please pass the word on to all your writer friends – and even those who don’t. You never know, you might inspire them to take it up. They can sign up here Until next time, farewell and do lots of writing!
