Student Successes

Charlotte M told us:

My Weekly Pocket Novel Success – Course Fees Made!
‘I was over the moon when I had a pocket novel accepted by My Weekly which will be out on the 4th of July. This sale means I have more than made back the course fees for this course and made me a full member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association. The novel went through several changes before it was finally accepted. But accepted it was and I am over the moon. I much prefer writing fiction to non-fiction. I'm proud because I am nowhere near to finishing the course but this sale has given me the impetus to finish it.’

Barry M says:

Letter Win
‘After reading modules 11 and 12, even though I’ve not yet completed assignment three, I emailed a letter to a magazine I subscribe to, Practical Photoshop, and have just had an email back saying it's won the star letter of the month and they are sending me a piece of software, which I was going to buy for £60! So, although no actual money, some success.’

Gaynor J told us:

Shortlisted for Competition
‘Not a grand success, but still! I was one of the top 15 shortlisted writers for the Playing Bingo short story competition. They had 173 entries so I'm pretty pleased. It was free to enter with a good prize pot, so I will try again for the next one. P.S. My husband said to me, ‘I remember when getting shortlisted was something to get excited about!’ when he heard me complain, which made me buck up my attitude and resolve to appreciate every small success – though I'm keeping 'win top three in a competition' as one of my 2013 resolutions!’
