"My Writers Bureau course has led to this year being the catalyst for me to make the most of my experiences instead of just musing."

"Besides seeing my first book in print, ... I am writing flat-out, and getting paid what I can now describe with pride as a decent salary."

Lizbeth Crawford AKA Elise Alden"My debut novel, Hate To Love You, by Elise Alden (my pen name for contemporary and historical romance), received three offers of publication. I went with Harlequin Carina Press.

"The fantastic news is that within three or four days of its release it entered Amazon USA, Canada and Australia's top 100 chart of all romance books sold and is still there, almost 3 weeks later. In the UK it's been slower but these things are fluid, but long may it last! My debut's overall ranking has been fantastic also, within the top 100 to 500 of all books sold on Amazon, including in the UK. This is a fantastic achievement for me, as I expected my ranking to be in the hundreds of thousands or millions, and I am over the moon.

"My second novel, Pitch ImPerfect, by Elise Alden, is the first in a series of five books and the scheduled release date is 20th October, 2014.

"My third novel (and first in a trilogy), Black Hole Bounty, by Sienna Bronwyn (my pen name for space opera and speculative romance), received three offers of publication. I negotiated for a three book deal with, Secret Cravings Publishing. The trilogy will be released in e-book first, followed by print three months after each e-release. The scheduled release date is 19th August 2014 for the e-book and December for print.

"So, thank you Writers Bureau, to which I am extremely grateful. The Novel and Short Story course gave me the tools I needed to write my first novel."

Lizbeth Crawford

"I just wanted to say that since completing the short course on Novels & Short Stories, I am now writing a monthly piece for The Dalesman magazine, and have also recently had two short stories for a monthly glossy women's magazine accepted. Thanks to my tutors for all their helpful advice and support."
Jacquie Gaunt

“The service is first rate. I am particularly struck by my tutor’s friendliness. Her warmth shows through in such a way that I know I am not simply an enrolment number.”
John Wileman

“I like being able to work at my own pace. My tutor is friendly and has been very encouraging. On the occasion that I had to phone The Writers Bureau, the person I dealt with was very obliging and helpful.”
Jayne Blyth

“Advice from my tutor is invaluable and I feel I have learnt a lot. I am improving my writing with each assignment.”
Gillian Hamer

“The service is good. I’m comfortable with my tutor – in fact very comfortable.”

Theresa Gooda Writers Bureau's Student of the Year 2021

“I began my first Writers Bureau course (Comprehensive Creative Writing) in 2007. Having more than covered the course fees from published pieces I have never looked back. Initially my ambitions were to get going. I knew I wanted to be a writer, I just didn’t know how to go about it, or, if I’m honest, quite what I wanted to write. Since, I have gradually blended a teaching career with writing, first with articles and short stories, then increasing the writing commitment dramatically when I secured an agent in 2016 to ghostwrite a series of memoirs. This year I have undertaken The Art of Writing Poetry course to really hone my skills in what I now realise is a genre I love - and have already had my first poems published.”
