The Writers Bureau’s Writer of the Year 2014

January 11th, 2014

We have our short list of this year’s winners for The Writer of the Year Award! And what an interesting lot they are. Three men in the short list this year, which is great news as last year all our winners were women.

So in alphabetical order:

Susie Kearley – achieved high earnings from writing for a range of magazines and newspapers as well as having a non-fiction book published.

Martin Read – who feels he easily out-scoops the young blades at the opposition papers because of his Writers Bureau training.

Kris Roberts – every piece that he’s created has been submitted for publication and every submission has been published or is awaiting publication.

Juanita Shield-Laignel – who’s discovered she doesn’t need a degree to earn from writing.

Victor Wright – a self-published writer in the horror genre with books and comics.

It’s a difficult decision, but we will make it by next Friday when the winners will be announced and you’ll be able to read their full stories.
