Here’ s What We’ve Got so Far…

March 20th, 2013

This is the third week for our mid week murder mystery story and here’s what we’ve got so far. Have a read and see if you can add some creative writing to it.

Pete shivered as he entered the lobby. Dilapidated curtains hung from the cobweb stricken windows and a strange feeling began to spread through his body. An unexpectedly bright ‘ding’ rang out as the rusty bell sprang into life. Pete’s ears hurt. Since that day, the sound of a bell would never be the same. A door draped in shadows creaked open, and through the dust-laden shaft of sunlight stepped a male figure. Read the rest of this entry »

Mid-Week Murder Mystery – Part 2!

March 13th, 2013

A big ‘thank you’ to John Walton for his submission towards the Mid-Week Murder Mystery story. It’s a great start and deserves a follow-on from someone. Well done John!

“A door draped in shadows creaked open, and through the dust – laden shaft of sunlight stepped a male figure. Pete was sure he had seen this person somewhere before. Without words being spoken the person indicated with his right hand for Pete to come closer, not feeling altogether safe he ventured forward ‘til he was a few paces from the stranger, all the while looking into the face feeling some sort of recognition, Pete’s memory seemed to come alive as he remembered the stranger was the actor Sidney Tafler from the 60s he said to Pete “come walk awhile with me” as they walked through the creaking door the bell in the belfrey gave out a deep ding dong where upon Pete found himself alone once more in the shaft of sunlight.”

Ooo… what’s going on? You tell me.

A Mid-Week Murder Mystery!

March 6th, 2013

For the next few weeks I’m going to try an experiment. Maybe it’ll work and maybe it won’t, that’s really up to you, my lovely readers, so please join in, it’ll be fun if you do.

Right this is what we’re going to do – I’ll start off the story and you add to it. This would normally happen by adding comments to the blog, but as that usually means you have to create and write a blog of your own, we’ll make it easier. All you need to do is to get you’re creative writing skills together, send your paragraph, of no more than 100 words, to this email address shelleyb@writersbureau.com with your efforts and we’ll choose the best one and add it to the story. There’s no prize or anything, just the kudos of being chosen.

So here goes…

‘Pete shivered as he entered the lobby. Dilapidated curtains hung from the cobweb stricken windows and a strange feeling began to spread through his body. An unexpectedly bright ‘ding’ rang out as the rusty bell sprang into life. Pete’s ears hurt. Since that day, the sound of a bell would never be the same. A door draped in shadows creaked open, and through the dust-laden shaft of sunlight stepped…’

Now it’s your turn. This is, as the title suggests, a murder mystery so please keep to that theme and have fun.
