Cindy-Lou Dale – A Career in Travel Writing“Doing the Writers Bureau course literally changed my life.”
Cindy-Lou Dale
Like many aspiring writers, Cindy-Lou decided she wanted to be a writer during her school years. A keen-eyed teacher noticed her talent and entered her essay describing a ‘National Geographic’ photo image into a national school writing competition. She won! From that point onwards, Cindy-Lou knew she wanted to be a writer and have work published in ‘National Geographic’. The stage was set for her transformation into a writer.
The transformation began in earnest when she decided to enrol with The Writers Bureau. Cindy-Lou completed the course in a year with worldwide publishing success already under her belt. From that time, she’s gone from strength to strength and now proudly describes herself as a ‘professional writer, editor and photojournalist’. Her first book is ‘Secrets of a Professional Travel Writer’, and her dream of being published in ‘National Geographic’ was also realised with the publication of a piece on Namibia.
Cindy-Lou is currently reviewing high-end luxury cars for an in-flight magazine. She’s travelled to Italy to review the new Lamborghini, Wales to try out the Lotus Evora and Belgium to review the new Peugeot RCZ. Reviews of Rolls Royce, Aston Martin and Maserati are also in the pipeline.
Next, she’s off to Johannesburg for more reviews. This time, as well as cars, she’ll be reviewing two private game reserves. And, a meeting with Desmond Tutu is also on the cards. Then, she’s off all over the world, including Morocco, Vietnam, Botswana, France, Holland, Italy and the Antarctic for various writing and photographic assignments.
Cindy-Lou demonstrates how your childhood dreams can become reality with the right encouragement and expert tuition.
