Quote Of The Day!

Shabreena Z - May 12, 2010 writes:

Hello all,

A suggestion from me: We all can post a quote per day which may give us a opportunity pick a subject (to write) based on our quote. Doest it make sense?

I go first to see:
=======================================
I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only a child playing on the seashore while the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.

~ Sir Isaac Newton

Hi Shabreena This sounds sounds like a good idea. One of my favourite quotes I found was actually written on a notebook I got from Barnes and Noble in America and I liked it so much that I made it my "writing notebook" as it seemed to apply: 'Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land among the stars' I don't know who said this - possibly Brian Littrell

Hi Catherine, I like the meaning of what you've quoted very much too. Here we go for today's quote: ================================ It doesn't matter how slow you go, so long as you don't stop. ~ Confucius =======================================

Katia G - May 19, 2010 replied:

Hi everyone. I do love quotes and I particularly like Catherine's one. Here is mine: I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see. John Burroughs

I saw this many years ago at the foot of a page in Reader's Digest, it was listed as 'Anon' ..... It is a successful person who can build a solid foundation out of the bricks people throw at him.

Amrita S - July 3, 2010 replied:

Hello everyone, i'm Amrita joining in today...very nice quotes ...Iam adding 2 of mine: The first: If something sounds too good to be true it probably is. The second: All good things must come to an end for all good things to begin again. The first one I read somewhere can't remember where and the second a friend said at the end of a party !

Martin J - July 17, 2010 replied:

Hey, I love quotes and tend to keep an rtf file of them. My favourite, though, is.
A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step - I think that is another Confucius type quote. To put it into perspective for us writers, try this.
A book of a million words starts with a single letter - thats by me.

Hello all, I'm relatively new to the course, and I haven't really contributed to much yet, but these quotes really caught my eye. I love quotes (especially from songs) I find them really inspiring. So here are a couple of mine from an amazing artist I've only just discovered called India Arie, she's incredible. "If Nelson Mandela can forgive his oppressor, surely I can forgive you for your passion." "I'm having a private party, I'm learning how to love me, I'm celebrating the woman I've become." I hope you like them. Rachael x

Very true this one, quote for today: Love doesn't just sit there like a stone; it has to be made, like bread, remade all the time, made new. ~Ursula Le Guin

Totally unrelated .... 'he who eats last, eats best.' William Shakespeare (Something to bear in mind at the buffet...)
