was at a pub in ireland to watch the grand national and was talking to an american guy who said that he was once a gambler and has been to big horse racing in kentucky. he eventually lost a couple of grand from his last visit so he learned he his lesson the hard way! anyway, when the race was on (you know what it's like in the grand national me-lee!) he turned to me and said can a horse without a jockey win??? - blow me down!!!

lol.... nope .. although I did comment that they should be able to ... something to do with carrying less weight. Did you see St John's Castle? He caused a lot of laughter in our house - he knew his own mind and he wasn't going to race for anyone.

yeah i did... he looked agressive and ready to race but it only goes to show that horses can be fickle minded too lol... oh well, it was great fun! i betted for State of Play which came out third. Better luck next year!
