Assignment N4

Fiona C - August 4, 2010 writes:

Hi, One of the requirements for this assignment is to write reader's letters for magazines. Yet we're supposed to be quick off the mark in sending letters in to magazines for publication, as they only want to publish letters relating to recent content. So are we supposed to wait until our work has been assessed, or can we send the letters to the magazines yet still send them for assessment? Kind regards Fiona Chapman

Clare T - August 5, 2010 replied:

That's exactly what I thought, Fiona, so I submitted the letters to the magazines before I sent my assignment off, only to be told by my tutor that I should have waited for her assessment first. Two letters were in fact printed, earning me €200 in vouchers and cheques. If I'd waited for her reply, I might have missed the boat. So there you go!

Fiona C - August 5, 2010 replied:

Thanks Clare. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Administrator - August 9, 2010 replied:

This can be tricky, but you should let your tutor see all your work before you send it off. iI you submit your work by email you'll have it marked and returned to you within 10 working days so that should give you enough time to send if off to the magazine of your choice.

I just have to comment on the administrators remark about getting work returned in 10 days. I sent assignment 2 off two weeks ago via email and so far, have heard nothing...
