grrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Darren Blanche - July 18, 2010 writes:

Please, please, please somebody help me!!!I seriously need a bureau buddy to calm me down!!!I've seriously debated throwing my lappy out of my window I'm that livid (not a TV I know but i think it would still have the same theraputic effect!!). I have been working on assignment N2 for over two months now.I've thoroughly read through the modules several times, asked many questions on the forum, studied and bought many of my chosen magazine, and finally come up with an article idea that I thought may just be good enough for it to be squeezed in. I've done plenty of research and finally finished my article, market research and outline ready to be sent off to my tutor. I was in WH Smith today and saw the latest edition of my target magazine. Just one more check that someone hasn't pipped me to the post! They hadn't...phew!! Until I read the page at the back telling you what was to be included in next months addition!! There it was!! Bold as brass!! I just cannot believe it!I'm gutted! Gutted that I now cannot send my article to the magazine and gutted because my idea has actually being published! If I was two months earlier...?Sorry about my moan peeps, but I just feel totally peeved! Shall I still send it to my tutor? Any replies and encouragement would be gratefully received!! Thanks for listening bureau buddies! Darren.

Sorry no one has replied sooner! DON'T PANIC! I have been there and felt the same, but before doing this course. STILL send it in. It states on the assignment that it MAY be recommended for submission. Look at it more as an assignment rather than something to pay the bills and it may help keep you sane. Also, what about looking at a different angle? I have an article in mind, which sprouted from an idea which was completely useless for my target magazine (it may still be but hey!). Hope you are feeling better now.

Hello Ingrid, thank you so much for replying, I thought everyone had forgotten about me! I've taken what you said on board and your right. I'm still going to send it off to my tutor, just to get some feedback. I'll also check out the article in the magazine, it will be intersting to compare it to mine. Thanks again Ingrid.

Hello, just thought I would mention that the exact same thing happened to me! I feel your pain - however luckily for me I had not started to write the article, just did some research. I felt quite happy about this in retrospect as my research was clearly spot on :) hope you can find the silver lining too Lisa

Hello Darren I know the feeling it's really frustating isn't it.But look at this way - it shows that your ideas are good ones that will sell articles. One of these days your turn will come. So keep going it will happen.
