Hi. don't give up. Just plan out your time and work at your own pace. I enrolled last year March and only submitted one assignment last year because of work commitments. I resumed this year March, after a year! and now I'm on assignment4 and moving steadily along. I scribble stuff down whenever an idea hits me. And I also read/browse various magazines. After completing assignment3 I felt really fired up. I think as long as u keep working on it you will get the hang of it. I'm actually enjoying myself now.

Hey, I agree, don't giv up! I enrolled last year, November time, however, due to stresses at work and home I am still on A2. Now out of job (not so good) and stress free (very good!!) i've found it easier to concentrate on the task at hand and set myself a steady pace for writing. Just because you've been working at a slower pace than most, doesn't mean your not as good.

I am on A2 but have only just started. I have a lot of time to concentrate on the course, but like you I struggled with what the assignment wanted. It didn't help as it is an area of writing I have never tackled before. I find asking for help always works. I am lucky in having writerly friends to brainstorm, and the conversation fired my imagination. Just keep trying. I also think I got stuck as I treated it as something that HAD to be published. When I took that pressure off myself, and realised it may be recommended for publishing, it all started coming together. Just keep trying, and lower the bar so you are not so stressed. And WRITE SOMETHING. I wrote 750 words of utter rubbish for an assignment, but I do have something to work on. So just go on and WRITE!

Really struggled with this myself, after assignment 1 it felt like I was being thrown in at the deep end! Anyway, after many months I am just about ready to send it off - what a journey! Wish you all the best with it.

Thank you for posting this! I'm stuck too - after a whirlwind of assignment submission, got stuck on the travel piece and have been here for almost a year now! I know it sucks to be like this, but don't give up. Look around you for ideas; don't approach everything thinking of material for an assignment. Write because you like to write, not because you must write - as Ingrid said, get the pressure off. You are bound to make progress - and I hope I make some too! (Gulp!) Good luck!

awww such brilliant posts! I've been stuck at the same assignment, assignment 2 for not 8 months, not 1 year, but two. It's been a very rocky and horrible climb. Ingrid, you made some lovely comments! I truly feel that's my problem, I make the bar simply unreachable. I have this idea that my assignment must be a A+ and almost mentioned on the first page of a brilliant magazine. And I've just begun my career as a writer, so how can I possibly expect myself to manage THAT?! sigh... You're completely right though; I'll just START and write SOMETHING I'm interested of and never let it cross my mind that it should be submitted to the mag intended for. Can't thank you enough!!
