The important thing is to write what you can write, and then send it to a publisher. Remember, journalism is not easy but you need to work hard, and then the rewards will flow.

I wouldn't be able to tell you of my successes; I'm too on assignment 2 and unsuccessful! But the words Ryan put in truly was what I am putting in to eventually become successful.
I study the modules until I feel I KNOW them by heart. I do the small suggestions they mention at times in the modules, i.e. write a writing diary, make a scrap file, write a 150 word long article... it gets me started to where I am headed: to become a professional writer. After all, learning is all like a ladder; I have to start my journey with one step at a time. I was told by my tutor to begin writing of something I know, so I pick something I am greatly interested in and find an online magazine or a bought one, that covers my area. In the Writer's and Artist's yearbook I found who accepts freelance work, but I also googled after online magz, and looked in-store at the first page of the magz there to see if they accept freelance. I don't get any contacts from my tutor, I find it on my own. Maybe you should hard read the modules again, the answers to your questions are in most of both Module 1 and 2. I guess success is something that demands luck too in the beginning and just not only pure hard work and searching until you find knowledge of what to do. Just don't be too hard on yourself, you're after all just beginning.

Hi there, I agree perfectly with what Candie said; following ALL the advice listed in the modules. And organisation of your work is an extremely important thing to do. You should be in "harmony" with yourself first, then you can impress others. About finding contacts, I haven't yet started to. I joined WB only last week. But we are in 2010! Just browse on the net, one link leads you to another, and yet another, and another, and so on. You just have to persevere. If you send something to 100 companies, you surely stand a chance to bag atleast one of them. Meagre...I know. But better something than nothing. Just hold on! Keep writing, never give up...Its like you should work hard and relax, both. Lolz:) All the best! Yush:)xxx
