Trade Mag Success

Alison F - August 2, 2010 writes:

I've mentioned before that a DVD industry trade mag had published something of mine (I used to work in that area) They've been brilliant though - they've given me 2 feature articles, both paid, with the promise of many more to come, and have now given me a trial at daily news snippet article writing for their website. It's great experience - don't write off trade press, is all I'm trying to say, as they're a brilliant place to learn new styles of writing, and can be more approachable than consumer mags. The downside is you need to know your stuff - but if you have career experience in virtually any area, it could be a good area to look at. All adds to the portfolio!

Well done Alison. Your trade mag. success has sparked some ideas that I will consider/pursue. Thanks for the inspiration.
