It is difficult to manage ones time affectively. I get confused with trying to compete the course while at the same time trying to get published in various magazines. Also, trying to remember to come back to unedited pieces some weeks later to polish them. Real life keeps getting in the way of the writing and the course work!

yes it does! Work and cooking and washing and after school car journeys get in the way totally! Set yourself small goals each week and tick them off your list. A HUGE TICK IN BRIGHT FELT TIP!!! It will make you feel like you are getting somewhere. Trust me - it really does help. One tip: make a list with something on it which can be ticked off straight away - it just looks better!

Yes you are right. Knowing one is making progress, no matter how slow, is good for the spirit. I'm on Assignment 4 now - fillers, which take less time, so I certainly feel as if I'm making progress now! Where are you at in the assignments yourself Karen?

Sorry - I have only just read your reply - we could do with a highlighted flash to let us know when someone has placed a reply. I am on Assignment 4 of the writing for children course but I have completed assignment 5,11 and 12 already too - long story!! I have had half term this week and as I teach, I was hoping to get on with Ass 4 this week, however a book I have to read has only just arrived!! BUT - it has given me a little more time to write other things I suppose as well as ferry my children here there and absolutely everywhere!!! Dentists, doctors, physio (for me), hair cuts, sleepovers miles away and so on...........I think I may have a two hour slot womewhere today to make a start but I think I may just flop infront of the box and watch a film instead!!!!????
