This month we have expert advice from Lorraine Mace on the wonderful world of how-to articles, Ten Top Tips shows you how to illustrate your work and the benefits it can bring – you’ll be shocked! Plus, we’ve the usual mix of inspiring student stories, events, inspiration and useful websites.

www.journalism.co.uk/
A hub for all things journalistic with articles, jobs, blogs, newsfeed, events and awards and forums to rummage through. It’s full of useful information and should keep you busy for some time.

www.pressgazette.co.uk/
This is another great hub containing a freelance directory, jobs, news from the world of journalism including media law, plus blogs, events and much more.

www.nuj.org.uk/
And we could not forget The National Union of Journalists. If you are a budding journalist and you are not already a member of this organisation you should really think about joining. It protects journalists’ rights and informs in areas such as pay, contracts, working hours and such like. It has a legal service to help journalists in need of advice and assistance and membership also provides you with an invaluable press card. There’s a joining fee of £25 for student membership but it is well worth the money.

Remember, if you run a website that you think may be of use to our readers, let me know. If I like it, I’ll publish a link to it giving you a free plug. What could be better than that?
