The fee
is £5.00/$9.00 per entry. There is no limit on the number of
entries competitors may send provided each one is accompanied by the
correct entry fee. Cheques and postal orders should be made payable
to The Writers Bureau. [Note: We do not accept personal cheques in
US$.] Only Sterling or American Dollars are accepted in currency.
[Subscribers to FMN have the reduced fee of £4.00/$7.00 per
entry.]

Poems must
not exceed 40 lines and must be typed (single spacing is acceptable).
Short stories must not exceed 2000 words and must be typed using double
spacing.

All material
must be on a separate sheet of paper and in English.

Work may
be on any subject or theme but should not have been previously published.

No competitor
may win more than one prize in each category.

The author's
name must not appear on any work but should be entered on the application
form or attached on a separate sheet of paper.

Copyright
remains with the author but prize winners must agree to assign first
publication rights to The Writers Bureau on request, plus permission
to include the work on The Writers Bureau website for a period of
up to 12 months.

Entries
cannot be returned to contestants so please keep a copy.

Receipt
of entries will only be acknowledged if accompanied by a stamped,
self-addressed postcard. Except for prize winners, entrants will only
be notified of results if their entry is accompanied by a stamped,
self-addressed envelope marked 'Results'.

Entries
that do not comply with the rules will be disqualified and entry fees
will not be returned.

Current employees of The Writers Bureau are not eligible to enter the competition.

the right to change the judges without notice.
The Closing Date is 30th June 2009
